Who is Black & White Diving?
Hi, I’m Nadine Al-Manqour, the founder of Black & White Diving. My journey into diving took an unconventional path - I first earned a Double Degree in Politics and International Relations in the UK before taking what many assumed was a brief sabbatical. Instead, it became the start of a transformative career.
Diving has shaped me as profoundly as academia once did. To explore the underwater world, one must embrace discomfort, adapt to the unknown, and commit to lifelong learning. Complacency has no place in diving - it demands continuous growth, discipline, and a deep respect for the environment. As a team sport, it also requires trust, accountability, and clear communication - skills I’ve honed while teaching in Spanish, English, French, and Japanese. Yet, underwater, body language often speaks louder than words. Teaching divers of all levels has sharpened my ability to assess confidence, comfort, and individual needs, ensuring a safe and supportive training environment.
Diving has also redefined my understanding of personal limits. Henry Ford once said, “If you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right”. This mindset has guided me through the challenges of technical, cave, and rebreather diving - each requiring perseverance, focus, and rigorous training.
Above all, my greatest passion is teaching. I believe in training with purpose, equipping my students with the skills and confidence to access incredible dive sites safely. Just as my instructors once motivated me, I strive to guide my students through their diving journey with the same dedication.
Over the years, I have worked with agencies such as PADI, SSI, and SDI/TDI, earning certifications as a Staff Instructor, EFR Instructor Trainer, and Technical Diving Instructor. I am also a certified Divesoft Liberty SM and BM CCR Diver, having taken those skills from open water into caves. I have total commitment to ensure that my students receive the highest level of instruction and diving experience.
