SDI Deep Diver Course - Go deeper safely and with confidence (399€)
SDI’s Deep Diver Course is a must for any diver wishing to explore a little more, go a little deeper, and learn the risks and benefits associated with deep diving. Many interesting sights lay just beyond open water diver training limits such as: beautiful wall dives, shipwrecks, and critters that don’t come into the shallows. The purpose of this course is to provide the necessary training to plan and execute dives that are beyond the depth range experienced during an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course, specifically beyond 18 metres (60 feet) and to a maximum depth of not greater than 40 metres (130 feet). By the end of the course your knowledge, awareness, and comfort level with deep diving activities will have increased.

What You Will Learn:
🔹 Dive Planning & Execution:
- Master techniques to plan and conduct deep dives safely.
- Learn to monitor depth, time, and air consumption efficiently.
🔹 Theoretical Foundations:
- Explore the history of dive tables and computers.
- Understand the physics and physiology of deep diving.
- Study the essential equipment needed for deeper dives.
🔹 Safety & Emergency Procedures:
- Learn critical emergency and first aid procedures for deep diving.
- Practice simulated underwater emergencies under expert supervision.
The SDI e-Learning materials are accessible in multiple languages. At B&W Diving, we are pleased to provide in-person dive training in English, French, Spanish, and Japanese. Please note that comprehension of the training language is crucial for effective learning and maintaining safety throughout your course.
Duration:
We structure the course over 4 dives in 2 days, incorporating 2 preparatory dives before beginning the official training. These initial dives allow us to ensure that your equipment and weighting are properly adjusted, that your buoyancy is in order, while also familiarizing yourself with local safety procedures before “diving” into your course.
The Deep Diver Specialty Course requires a strong foundation in buoyancy, trim, and positioning (BTP). Upon successful completion, this certification will qualify you to dive to a maximum depth of 40m* (130 feet) using a single cylinder. This course might motivate you to take on technical diving, which provides greater gas redundancy, enhanced safety, and advanced diving skills.
At our facility, certification is earned, not given, it is subjected to the instructor’s discretion based on your comfort level in the water. We will try our best to help you complete the course in the recommended time, but if extra training days are required, it will incur in extra fees.
* Note that divers between the ages of 10 through 14 cannot exceed 21m (70 feet).
