SDI Inactive Diver/Refresher Program - Been out of the water for some time? (180€)

The SDI Inactive Diver/Refresher Program is designed to update and review the knowledge and skills of divers who have been away from the water. It also serves as a catalyst for continuing education programs.

Who Is This Course For?

👥 Inactive Certified Divers: For divers who have not dived for some time and wish to review scuba skills and academic knowledge before returning to the water.

What You Will Learn:

🔷 Dive Planning:

  • Review equalization techniques, communication signals, and basic physiology.
  • Refresh your skills in how to conduct dives and the use of a dive computer.

🔷 Equipment Skills:

  • Practice assembling your scuba system, adjusting weights, and defogging your mask.
  • Remember proper donning techniques for the scuba system and safe entry into the water.

🔷 In-Water Techniques:

  • Learn controlled descents and ascents, with the use of a computer, regulator clearing and recovery, and mask clearing.
  • Retrain buoyancy control and hovering skills

🔷 Rescue & Emergency Procedures:

  • Practice gas-sharing ascents and handle various underwater emergency scenarios.

🔷 Post-Dive Tasks:

  • Perform a complete disassembly of your system and log your dive accurately.

What’s In It For You?

Independent Diving: Upon completion, you can dive without direct supervision—provided your dive activities, locations, and conditions are similar to those in training.

*Note: Junior divers (ages 10–14) must participate in diving activities with a parent, guardian, or dive professional.

The SDI e-Learning materials are accessible in multiple languages. At B&W Diving, we are pleased to provide in-person dive training in English, French, Spanish, and Japanese. Please note that comprehension of the training language is crucial for effective learning and maintaining safety throughout your course.

Duration:

It normally takes 1 in water training dive. For an additional 20€, you can enjoy an extra dive, allowing you to apply and reinforce the skills you’ve just learned in a real diving environment!

What Is Included?

At B&W Diving, we are committed to transparent pricing with no hidden fees. This program includes:

  • Land transport from the dive center to the dive site and return when applicable 
  • Dive Equipment: including mask, wetsuit, boots, fins, backplate/wing, regulators, dive computer, cylinders, and weights

Please note, the following is not included:

  • E-Learning Materials
  • Diver Registration Fee with training agency
  • Certification Fee
  • Nitrox 32% fills
  • Ferry Fees, if applicable 
  • Boat Trips
  • Meals & Beverages

Prerequisites:

✔️ Have proof of an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent from a recognized dive training organization OR ✔️ SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent from a recognized dive training organization.

✔️Medically Fit*

  • Medically Fit - In Malta, all divers are required to complete a medical questionnaire. Contact us for more information at blackandwhitediving@gmail.com

Cancellation Policy:

We understand that unexpected changes can occur, but due to the logistical arrangements involved, the following cancellation fees apply:

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled program will incur in a 100% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled program will incur in a 50% cancellation fee.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please inform us as early as possible so we can assist you accordingly and try to accommodate your request.
