Questions & answers
Good to know
Can’t find your answer? Send us a message and we’ll be happy to help.
Do I need to be a good swimmer?
You need to be comfortable in the water. Before your first certification you complete a short swim and a 10-minute float, at your own pace and without a time limit. If you feel unsure, just tell us and we’ll help you get comfortable.
Is there a minimum age?
Most beginner courses start from age 10, with depth limits for younger divers. Specialty and Rescue courses have their own minimum ages. Get in touch and we’ll find the right course for you or your child.
Do I need a medical certificate?
Before diving you fill in a standard diver medical questionnaire. If you answer yes to any of the questions, you’ll need a doctor’s approval before getting in the water. Not sure? Send us a message and we’ll explain.
Do I need my own equipment?
No. We provide all the equipment you need for your course. If you have your own gear, you’re very welcome to bring it, and we can also help you choose equipment that fits you perfectly.
PADI or SDI: which should I choose?
Both give you an internationally recognised certification that lets you dive anywhere in the world. PADI is the best-known name worldwide; SDI is a modern, computer-based system from the same family as TDI, which makes the step into technical diving very smooth. We’re happy to explain the differences.
How long should I wait before flying after diving?
As a general guideline, wait at least 12 hours after a single dive and at least 18 hours after several dives or several days of diving. Plan your last dive day with your flight in mind and we’ll help you schedule it.
